Let’s hear it for Keely Parrack’s visit to #AuthorAcrostics this week. And give an even bigger round of applause for her picture book, Morning Sunshine, which had its debut at the start of the pandemic. https://keelyparrack.com/

Daring Darlene: Queen of the Screen, The Orphan Band of Springdale, and Cloud and Wallfish are a few of Anne Nesbet’s fantastic middle grade novels for you to check out, along with her fun #AuthorAcrostics below. You can watch a video about her research for Daring Darlene here and the book trailer here. Enjoy!

If you don’t look fast enough, you’ll miss Matthew Winner! He really is juggling many hats. Like he says in this week’s #AuthorAcrostics, they have been fashioned perfectly for him. To find out more, click here!

Again, catching up from this past Monday, but I had a fantastic visit with author/illustrator, Kevan Atteberry. And can I just say how much I LOVE having an illustrator who includes his art. Look at that sweet bear and his kite. I don’t think it gets better than that! To find out more about Kevan, just click here.

Oh dear! I’m behind with my Acrostics posts on here. But Kate visited on March 8th (my Dad’s birthday, actually) and we had a grand time. Please check out her books and more about Kate here!

After my visit with the Franklin School in Newark on Monday, I’m storing up these sweet notes and videos from these second graders. If I could go back to second grade myself, sign me up for Ms Balerio. She captures their attention and provides the love and reassurance they need (all through Zoom). When you think the world is a mess, go visit a classroom of second graders. You will have faith in humanity again.

I know. I know. You’ve grown accomplished to children’s authors visiting for #AuthorAcrostics, but today I’m welcoming a columnist, poet, novelist and editor all in one. Madonna and I have only met through emails and online, but we have been friends for sometime now. We first connected when her work appeared in the anthology Toasts, compiled by June Cotner and myself. It’s been a grand time ever since. You may learn more about Madonna here.

The world has begun to take stock in a few good things that have happened during the pandemic. I would include my Zoom visit with the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) as one of those surprise blessings. I had such a good time working on list poems with them. Take a look at some of their creations. A special thank you to Ms Catherine Bae, their amazing librarian, who organized this visit. The poem below is entitled SUMMER ROCKS by Mr George’s Second Grade. Isn’t it grand?!

There was a time when I didn’t look forward to Mondays, but now I do. After all, it’s time for another #AuthorAcrostics. Let’s welcome author, Laurie Wallmark, and her fantastic books. If you haven’t checked out her work, please head to her website here.
